November 2026 Events
Hello everyone!
Hope you all enjoyed the events we ran this month. I am now back and excited to update you all on what we have in store for you in November!
We will be continuing our senior student-led UKMLA teaching series on the 2nd of November with Neurology, followed by neuroanatomy on the 9th. The following week on the 16th our fabulous president will be teaching repro anatomy, and this will be great revision for 3rd years. All of these sessions will run from 5.30-7pm on Teams, so keep an eye out for the sign-up form to receive the link.
Following a successful start to the Mind the Bleep series, our FY doctors will be back on the 3rd for some ENT oriented teaching and the 19th for urology. No one will prepare you better than these resident doctors on how to survive an on-call shift on a surgical ward!
To tie together (pun intended) the intermediate suturing series, our suturing convenors will be running the reinforcement session in room 223 Suttie centre at 5.30pm.. Before commencing the advanced suturing series! The first session will be on the 12th of November, with details and sign up to come out shortly.
Two brand new events that the committee have curated for you are the start of our research series, and our A-E simulation night. The first event in our research series will be an introduction session by our talented research lead on the 10th, with activities, prizes and a starter pack for everyone who comes along! The A-E sim night will be led by our teaching lead who many of you will recognise from the teaching series, and this practical event will have a focus on surgical emergencies, their presentation and management in an acute scenario. A tricky but essential skill!
We hope you enjoy this next instalment of events, and as always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out via instagram or email!
